Psychological services

Individual therapy for children aged 8 and older, adolescents and adults is currently telehealth only. Telehealth may be available across Victoria where clinically suitable, with adequate privacy and safety. It is generally considered from around age 12; suitability is assessed individually. New enquiries are reviewed for suitability and capacity before an appointment is offered.

Support for common concerns

Therapy may be relevant to anxiety, panic, depression and low mood, stress and adjustment, emotion regulation, perfectionism, interpersonal difficulties, neurodivergence-related concerns, and emotional or behavioural difficulties in children. Each client’s goals, circumstances and preferred way of working are considered individually.

Trauma, burnout and complex presentations

Matthew is particularly interested in the effects of single distressing events, repeated adversity and experiences that have accumulated over time. Trauma-focused care is paced around suitability, preparation, stability and consent, and may include EMDR where appropriate. Burnout work may involve examining the demands and patterns maintaining exhaustion, rebuilding sustainable routines and developing a more sustainable way forward.

Children and adolescents

Work may include emotional regulation, behavioural strategies, creative activities and collaboration with parents or guardians. Suitability from age 8 is assessed individually. Parent or guardian participation may be included where clinically appropriate, while the young person’s privacy is respected within legal and safety limits.

Funding and referrals

Medicare-funded appointments

Medicare rebates may be available where the client has an eligible pathway and a valid written referral. See the GP information and Medicare referrals page for referral requirements.

Private appointments

Private appointments cost $225 for 50 minutes. A referral is not required.

Financial Assistance Scheme / Victims of Crime referrals

These referrals are considered only where the relevant referral, authority approval, funding and clinical suitability requirements are in place.

NDIS referrals

Eden accepts eligible plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants for appropriate supports. NDIA-managed funding is not accepted because Eden Psychological Services is not an NDIS-registered provider.

Appropriate disability-related psychological supports may be available via telehealth when they meet NDIS funding criteria, relate to the participant’s disability support needs and are included in the plan. NDIS funding does not automatically cover all psychology sessions or mainstream mental health treatment. Eligibility, support suitability, funding and capacity are reviewed before acceptance.

Participants can enquire directly. Support coordinators may enquire on a participant’s behalf with appropriate consent, and plan managers may contact Eden about billing arrangements. For general enquiries, contact referrals@edenpsych.com.au; please do not email detailed health information.

TAC referrals

TAC referrals are considered only where referral, authority approval, adequate funding and clinical suitability requirements are in place. Any no-gap arrangement depends on those requirements being accepted and adequately funded.

WorkSafe Victoria referrals

WorkSafe Victoria referrals may be considered where referral, claim or funding approval, suitability and capacity requirements are met.
